Former runways now serve as highways for rollerbladers and cyclists, and colorful kites drift overhead, their strings reaching down to earthbound dreamers. Across the seasons, these expansive grounds welcome every kind ofhuman gathering, while endangered species find refuge in the wild grasses along the airfield’s edges.
Tempelhofer feld captures berlin’s essential character, a place where contrasts thrive and diversity flourishes, where people from every corner ofthe city share the same vast stage and embrace a sense offreedom thatfeels boundless.
Giulia Thinnes is a self-taught photographer whose work is rooted in personal experience. An experience that informs her style. She rarely begins a project with a fixed concept. Instead she collects situations, moments, and then, little by little, a thread appears. She needs some time to let the images sink in after they’ve been taken. It’s only afterwards that she can begin to shape them into a coherent narrative. In 2023 she graduated from the Ostkreuz School of Photography in Berlin with her work “… it’s easier for me like that…”.
Her work has been exhibited throughout Europe.
